Good Enough is EnoughGiving ourselves the grace of “good enough” is a gift that keeps on giving. The irony is that we’re often able to do/be better than we otherwise would in chasing the mythical place of perfection. Constantly striving for perfection leaves us exhausted and debilitated. Perfectionism is an endless cycle of judging that leads to isolation and fear. Trying to be perfect comes at the expense of learning, growth and fun. The myth of perfection comes with it a belief that we gain value or worth by what we do. Detoxing from perfectionism is letting go of the self-limiting belief that we're not enough. When we recognize our common humanity — imperfections and all — we have greater access to self-compassion. Finding "good enough" is a liberating place where we can truly be authentic. Good enough is a self-sustaining place where we can enjoy the process, including the necessary mistakes for learning. When we seek good enough we often do better than we otherwise would have and feel a sense of satisfaction.
