Work friendships can be complicated by competing personal and professional needs. On the one hand, you want to be seen as a competent professional by your colleagues. On the other hand, you also want to be seen as a likable person who is easy to get along with. This can create a delicate balance that can be difficult to maintain. If you find yourself in a situation where you are trying to balance these two needs, it is important to remember that it is okay to have different groups of friends at work and outside of work.
