Lead with Care & KindnessThe most dismissive and unhelpful thing we can say to someone who’s upset is “calm down.” It’s another way of saying, don’t feel what you’re feeling, it’s making me uncomfortable. There are sooooo many other better choices depending on the circumstances. Let’s lead with love, care and support. 💙 1. "I care about you."2. "I’m right here with you."3. "Your feelings are valid."4. "Let me know if I can help, when you’re ready to. No rush."5. "Your feelings matter to me."6. "I wish I could take away your pain."7. "Take all the time you need."8. "I’m here if/when you want to talk about it."9. NothingJust being with someone when they're upset is often the best intervention.
