Self-Reflection Doesn't Always Include ChangingWe cannot please everyone. Sometimes our actions, words or beliefs make other people feel uncomfortable. It’s okay to both empathize with our impact on others and choose not to change. When we’re able to stand in our own truth we’re actually better able to self-reflect with new information to see if there really IS something we genuinely want to change. Just because someone is uncomfortable with our beliefs, behaviors or existence doesn't mean that we need to do anything. It's okay to have deep empathy for how upset someone is without changing anything. When we're truly okay with not pleasing others, we can choose more freely if we want to change something based on new information. Accepting that not everyone will like our decisions gives us space to be genuinely self-reflective.
