Why You Over-Explain

Over-Explaining is Often Unconscious

There are often underlying reasons for why we do what we do.
Bringing them to conscious awareness allows us to have a better sense of choice moving forward.
You want to keep safe from rejection and please others.
Why You Over-Explain
You proactively defend yourself before others have a chance to attack you.
Why You Over-Explain
You justify your choices in hopes that others accept you for how you portray yourself.
Why You Over-Explain
You avoid conflict by explaining yourself first before other people have a chance to question you.
Why You Over-Explain
You've been gaslit in your past and you're afraid someone will distort your words.
